Abarth Evo Esseesse Kit
The eagerly awaited New Kit esseesse Koni for Abarth Punto EVO feature comprises of:
- Engine Power upgrade to 180 bhp
- Front Brake discs; Abarth Brembo Floating Brake Discs, Cross Drilled and Ventilated (305mm x 28mm)
- Upgrade to High performance Front Brake Pad set
- Cross Drilled Rear Brake Discs; Abarth Brembo (264mm x 11mm)
- New Front & Rear; Koni FSD Damper set (Frequency Selective Damping)
- Brembo suspension spring set: Red Spring finish and reduced ride height set up
- High-flow Air Filter “powered by BMC”
- Exhaust System; replacement rear section with enlarged bore
- Badge “esseesse” for engine cover and Tailgate
All this combined Can increase you engine power to 180 bhp give your Abarth Punto Evo a faster acceleration 0-62 MPH only 7,5 seconds / maximum speed of 134 MPH
All this has been achieved while keeping the car in the Euro 5 category for emissions, and in particular without any increase in the levels of CO2 emissions compared to the Normal Production version.

During its action every braking system develops a considerable amount of heat and in instances of heavy use, repeated braking or extreme weather conditions; it is conceivable that this could result in reduced braking efficiency.
To ensure that optimum braking effect is maintained under even the most demanding of circumstances, Abarth has developed in conjunction with industry leaders Brembo, a floating Brembo brake disc system.
A major feature of this high performance system is its ability to re-align the contact area of the brake pad with the surface of the disc ensuring maximum pad/ disc contact is maintained at all times, this is then coupled with a self ventilated and cross-drilled disc construction which is designed to dissipate heat faster.
In practical terms this means:
- Significantly improved braking power
- Consistent brake performance
- Potential Reduction in stopping distance
Abarth Evo Assetto Kit
Abarth proudly presents a new offering in the world of Sports tuning with a kit that puts the emphasis on the car’s handling; “Kit Assetto Koni”.
The most notable thing about this kit is the use of ‘Abarth Koni’ FSD shock absorbers, created in collaboration with Koni, a world leader in the production of sports cars suspension systems.
Thanks to their FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) technology, these Koni shock absorbers guarantee the best possible road-holding, by adapting their performance to suit the driver’s driving style.
As with all Abarth products, the reference target is composed primarily of technically-minded, sporting customers, who perhaps already have the Abarth Punto EVO, and who now want to take the car to a higher level. Equally you should be talking with our slightly younger customers, who are image-conscious and are looking for a car with a sportier look, but without increasing the already impressive performance levels.
The main components for Kit Assetto Koni for Abarth Punto EVO are:
- 2 Abarth Koni front shock absorbers with FSD valve
- 2 Abarth Koni rear shock absorbers with FSD valve
- 4 dedicated Abarth Brembo springs with red finish and ride lowered by 20 mm.

FSD is the acronym for ‘Frequency Selective Damping’

How does it work?
Over one kilometer of road, a shock absorber is extended and compressed literally thousands of times. If we take one second out of this kilometer and the number of times (cycles) the shock absorber moves, we can work out the operating frequency (Hertz).
To control body roll on bends, a shock absorber moves relatively little, meaning that it works at a low frequency, however on uneven surfaces, even at low speeds, a huge number of cycles are generated, with a short stroke, meaning that the shock absorber works at a high frequency.
Different road surfaces transmit different stresses and forces to the wheels, generating cycles, frequencies and loads differing magnitudes. A flat road typically generates low-frequency input, while an uneven road generates high-frequency input.
Not only different types of surface, but also different types of roads (city, mixed cycle, motorway) can generate different input in a vehicle’s suspension, and therefore correspond to different calibration requirements.
The ‘Abarth Assetto Koni’ suspension kit can adapt to all of these situations, applying the most appropriate calibration settings in real time to ensure the best possible road-holding combined with the greatest comfort.
This is made possible by way of the advanced FSD technology being able to adapt the calibration instantly to the various frequencies encountered, as shown in the graph below.
The ‘Abarth Assetto Koni’ kit is based on a controlled flow of hydraulic oil according to frequency. This is made possible by an additional valve (A) that gradually comes into operation as the suspension frequency increases, and opens a second flow of hydraulic oil.
When the Abarth Koni FSD is subjected to low frequencies, braking force is determined by the main flow (1) and remains as high as possible to ensure the best possible road-holding however when higher frequencies force the FSD valve to open, it opens a parallel flow (2) of hydraulic oil that lowers the shock absorber’s calibration settings.
