Trofeo Abarth GP
After a successful year competing in Italy and throughout Europe, the Trofeo Abarth 500 comes to Great Britain for 2010 with a new, dedicated series - the Trofeo Abarth 500 GB.
Abarthisti has been exclusively invited to attend the Trofeo launch event at Silverstone on Thursday 22nd October, and we'll have unprecedented access to the day's events.
We'll be present for the unveiling and delivery of the Abarth 500 Assetto Corse race cars; we'll see the cars take to the track for the first time for testing; we'll have access to the people behind the series and the chance to talk technical; and we'll enjoy full use of the Abarth hospitality facilities, including lunch and refreshments during the day. There's a chance we'll be able to blag a passenger ride or two in a race car - but no promises!
The Track Day
If you're feeling inspired and would like to drive your own car on track, we've got that covered, too. Together with Abarth, we'll have exclusive use of the Stowe circuit for the day, a circuit well suited to encourage those who've perhaps never been on a track before. As a smaller circuit, Stowe is easy to learn, and suits the Abarth cars well.
Drivers will be organised into two groups, with each enjoying four sessions on-track through-out the day. Drivers must bring their driving licences with them, and will be required to attend a driver's briefing at the beginning of the day, where the rules of the event will be fully explained. Helmet hire will be available at the circuit (please advise prior to the day), and insurance can be arranged to suit your requirements (call MORIS on 020 7638 0790).
Prices and Booking
The Track Day costs £175 for the day, and includes full hospitality access for one driver. Additional Hospitality Passes are available for your guests or for those not driving on track, at £30 a head.
To book your place, please visit:

You will be emailed a booking and payment form that must be completed and returned in good time before the event.
Q&A
I don't want to drive my Abarth on track - can I still attend?
Yes, you can attend as a guest with full hospitality access at a cost of £30 a head.
Can I bring a friend with me?
Of course. Additional hospitality passes are available at £30 a head. Note however that only registered drivers may drive on track.
If I don't book to drive on track prior to the event, but change my mind on the day, can I still get to drive?
We will do our best to accommodate you. However, you will need to bring the remainder of the track fee in cash with you (we won't be able to process credit card payments on the day), your driving licence, and you must attend a driver's briefing.
I don't have my own helmet. Can I hire one?
Yes, the circuit will have helmet hire available at a typical cost of £10 for the day. However, you must notify the circuit prior to the event, and details will be sent to you along with the booking and payment form.
I've never done this kind of thing before. How will I get on?
This day is especially for you. The Stowe circuit is very easy to learn, and suits the Abarth well. There will be plenty of experienced drivers around to give you pointers and to demonstrate racing lines through corners.
Is the track element competitive?
No, in fact, 'racing' against other drivers is not permitted, and overly aggressive drivers will be removed from the circuit.
I'm worried about damaging my car. Can I get track day insurance?
Absolutely. Give MORIS a call on 020 7638 0790 or visit their website (after Oct 9th) for a quote. You can choose the level of cover that's appropriate to you.
What time does the event start?
The day starts at 8:30am with the driver's briefing, and runs until approx. 5pm.
Is fuel available at the circuit?
We recommend you arrive with the required level of fuel, but the circuit's Fuel Station can supply BP Ultimate unleaded (97 octane), and BP Ultimate 102 (102 octane).
Can I install a camera in my car to record track footage?
Yes, you can, but all cameras must be declared and an indemnity form signed.
I don't own an Abarth; can I still come along?
Sorry, this event has been organised exclusively for Abarth customers, and only Abarth cars will be allowed on track. If you are waiting for your Abarth to be delivered, you are of course very welcome to attend as a hospitality guest.
